After about a month of contemplation and soul-searching, I came to the realization that I was basing my coaching fees on industry standards. Not to say that this is a bad thing, but it wasn’t matching up with my goal of coaching: helping people who are not generally in a financial place to work with a coach. I absolutely love working with people who are in transition, especially those figuring out their life purpose/calling and how to shift into making it a fulfilling career. And, I understand firsthand that such life-altering transitions often come with a price, whether it be going back to school, moving, or taking on a new job that pays less monetarily (while making up the difference otherwise).
I also know that people are in different places in life, that $20 to one might be the equivalent of $100 to another. Thus, the solution my soul-searching has brought me to is to use a “sliding-scale” of sorts.
